- Tianeptine: Schedule I (added by Board of Pharmacy regulation under the Drug Control Act).
- Phenibut: Not scheduled; FDA says it’s not a lawful dietary ingredient (misbranded if sold as a supplement).
- Kratom: Regulated (21+, labeling). Selling to under-21 or without required warnings violates the Virginia Consumer Protection Act.
- Nitrous oxide: Restricted for intoxication; under-18 sales prohibited (Va. Code §18.2-264).
- THC / Cannabis: Personal possession legal; no adult-use retail; medical program active.
- Salvia divinorum / Salvinorin A: Schedule I (banned by HB 21 (2008)).
